Berto Advances to the Bonus Round
Before competing for the final prize, Berto had already secured a rewarding collection of winnings. One of the biggest highlights from the earlier portion of the game was a Disney cruise.
Winning the trip ensured that his appearance would already be a major success, even before the Bonus Round began.
However, Berto’s performance carried him further. By advancing to the final stage, he earned an opportunity to compete for an additional prize hidden inside one of the envelopes presented during the round.
The Bonus Round placed him alone at the center of the game, where a limited amount of time separated him from a potentially life-changing result.
The selected category was “Phrase,” giving Berto a short group of words to identify from the letters shown on the puzzle board.
Bonus Round puzzles can create intense pressure because contestants must process the available letters, examine the arrangement of the words, and announce the correct response before the timer expires.
For Berto, the solution came with extraordinary speed.
An Instant Solution
As soon as the countdown started, Berto confidently solved the puzzle by saying, “We Are In A Hurry.”
His response was correct, and the speed of the solve removed any need for a dramatic last-second guess.
The phrase appeared to become clear to him immediately. Rather than pausing or speaking through several possibilities, he recognized the complete answer and delivered it in one decisive moment.
The instant solve transformed the atmosphere on the stage. The uncertainty surrounding the puzzle disappeared, leaving only one major question: what prize had Berto won?
Host Pat Sajak moved forward with the envelope that had been selected for the final round.
At that point, Berto knew that he had completed the most important part of the challenge. He had solved the puzzle within the required time, guaranteeing that the prize inside the envelope belonged to him.
The value of that prize had not yet been revealed.
