The man sat motionless, overwhelmed by what was happening.

A staff member approached the table as the song ended.

“I heard the wish you made.”
The man looked up in surprise.
The staff member continued.
“I cannot promise everything. But I will do my best to help arrange time for you to see your family soon.”
Hope Returns
The man could hardly believe what he heard.
“Really?” he asked softly.
The answer came with a nod.
“Everyone needs a reason to keep hope alive.”
The man covered his face with his hands as emotion washed over him once again.
But now, hope had replaced loneliness.
